What to Know Before Your First Brow Lamination

Brow lamination is one of our most-loved services at Full Circle Beauty — clients frequently tell us it's the best decision they've made for their brows. If it's your first time, here's everything you need to know to get the most out of your appointment.

Are You a Good Candidate for Brow Lamination?

Brow lamination works best for clients who have a moderate amount of natural brow hair but want more control, definition, or fullness. It's ideal for:

  • Brows that grow in different directions or won't stay in place
  • Brows that look thin or patchy but actually have decent hair density
  • Anyone who wants that fluffy, brushed-up editorial brow look
  • Clients who spend a lot of time on brow makeup and want to simplify their routine

Brow lamination may not be ideal for clients with very sparse brows, damaged brow hair, or skin sensitivities like eczema or psoriasis in the brow area. If you're unsure, mention it when you book and we'll advise you accordingly.

How to Prepare for Your Brow Lamination

A little prep goes a long way. Here's what to do in the days before your appointment:

  • Don't wax or thread your brows for at least a week before: Your brow lamination includes a cleanup of the brow shape, so save any shaping for your appointment.
  • Grow your brows out as much as possible: The more hair we have to work with, the better your results. If you've been over-plucking, give your brows 4–6 weeks to fill in before booking.
  • Arrive with clean, product-free brows: No brow pomade, tinted brow gel, or wax on your brows the day of your appointment.
  • Avoid retinol or exfoliating acids on the brow area for 48 hours before: These can sensitize the skin and affect how the lamination solution processes.
  • Avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure before your appointment: Sunburned skin is more sensitive and prone to reactions.

What Happens During the Appointment

Your brow lamination at Full Circle Beauty takes about 50 minutes. When you arrive, we'll consult on your desired shape and fullness — whether you want dramatic, fluffy brows or a more subtle, polished look. We'll then apply the lamination solutions, set the brows in your desired direction, apply a nourishing treatment, and finish with a brow shape and optional tint.

The process involves two chemical solutions applied to the brow hairs, similar to a lash perm. It's painless — many clients relax or nap through the appointment.

The Critical 24–48 Hours After

How you care for your brows in the first two days determines how long your results last. During this window:

  • Keep brows completely dry — no water, steam, sweat, or facial mist directly on the brows
  • Don't apply any makeup, oils, or products to the brow area
  • Don't rub, touch, or scratch your brows
  • Sleep on your back or use a silk pillowcase to avoid flattening the hairs overnight

After 48 hours, your results are set. At this point, you can resume normal activities and apply makeup as usual.

Ongoing Brow Care

Once your brows are set, maintenance is simple. Brush them upward every morning with a clean spoolie. Apply a nourishing brow oil or conditioning serum a few times a week to keep the hairs healthy and extend your results. Avoid heavy, oil-based products near the brow area as they can break down the lamination faster.

Plan to come back for a touch-up every 6–8 weeks. Most clients find their brows look so good after lamination that they book their next appointment before they even leave the studio.
